Govt clears 12 FDI proposals worth Rs 242 crore

The government has cleared 12 proposals for foreign direct investment, FDI in the country worth a total of over 242 crore rupees. According to the official sources these proposals include one from Indian Rotorcraft to carry out the assembly of both military and civil helicopters.

The Foreign Investment Promotion Board, FIPB deferred decisions on 15 FDI proposals, including those of Vodafone Essar and Bangladesh-based Rahimafrooz Batteries, and rejected seven applications.

At the last FIPB meeting last month, FDI proposals worth

122.79 crore rupees were approved. The next meeting of the FIPB will be held on 30 of this month.
