The Government has cleared eleven proposals of Foreign Direct Investment, FDI amounting to around 1567 crore rupees.According to the Finance Ministry, the decision to this effect was taken on the basis of recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board. The proposals were related to the sectors including White Label ATMs, Pharma and Telecom. Of them, Rs. 1350 crore FDI proposal of AGS Transact Technologies Limited for issuance and transfer of equity shares to eligible non resident investors was cleared. Besides, approval was also granted to Rs. 50 crore proposal of Amar Ujala Publications for foreign shareholding in the company up to 26 per cent. In addition to it, another Rs. 10,000 crore FDI proposal of Sistema Shyam Tel Services and over Rs. 3200 crore proposal of IIFL Holdings have been recommended to the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for consideration.
