Congress has said government cannot push through Goods and Services Tax Bill without its support. Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday evening, party leader Jairam Ramesh said, his party is in favour of passage of the bill provided some amendments moved by the party are accepted. He said the party wants that the GST rate should not be more than 18 per cent and there should be a dispute settlement mechanism.<br/><br/>Asked about the possibility of the special session of Parliament, Mr Ramesh said he has no such information.<br/><br/>On Land Acquisition Bill, he said, consensus is yet to be reached on many important provisions of the bill. He said, there were 15 Amendments and consensus on nearly ten have emerged.
