Govt cannot interfere in commercial decision of Air India: Minister

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju told Lok Sabha that the government cannot interfere in the commercial decision of the public carrier Air India. Commence of services to any sector will depend on the commercial viability of such operations. He said the government proposes to connect unserved/ unconnected airports in the country.<br/><br/>Replying to supplementaries during Question Hour, the Minister said the draft civil aviation policy laid down that such proposals will require the willingness of airlines and state governments. He said the current budget provides for 50 to 100 crore rupees for revival of such airports/airstrips.
