Govt calls upon Auto industries Captains to tap opportunities for growth

The Government has called upon the captains of Auto industries to tap the opportunities available in the domestic market for the sustainable growth of this sector. Speaking at a function of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association in New Delhi, the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and public Enterprises, Mr Praful Patel said that auto components industry sales rose to 39 billion US dollar including exports of 5 billion US dollar last year. He said that manufacturing sector contributes 22 per cent to the GDP and plays an important role in the growth of the country.

Mr. Patel said that to make the country a global hub of manufacturing, various issues like land acquisition and power shortage seek proper attention to resolve the issue. He said that the auto industry and auto manufacturing component sector should utilise innovative technology and focus towards research and development practices in view of the global competitive scenario. Mr. Patel also said that his ministry is committed to provide all possible help for the growth of this industry.
