Government on Thursday called for making the administrative system corruption free. It also stressed for evolving an effective civil service for imaginative solutions to the problems facing the country. Quoting the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanswami said at the third lecture of UPSC in New Delhi that this is the reason for reforms made in civil services.

Delivering the lecture noted scientist and former President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam said that a creative and qualitative leadership is needed to transform India into an economically developed nation by 2020.
