The government is awaiting comments of Prasar Bharati on the contract for production and coverage facilities under the host broadcasting assignment between Doordarshan and a partnership firm SIS Live UK. Giving this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mrs. Ambika Soni said the comments were sought following a number of reports alleging irregularities related to the operation of the contract. The minister said in addition, an audit by CAG is currently under way in the matter. Stating that the government has already constituted a high level committee under the former CAG, Mr V K Shunglu to look into the issues relating to the organizing and conduct of the Commonwealth Games, which interalia will include broadcasting of the games, the Minister said appropriate action would be initiated thereafter.
