Minister of State for Finance, Pon Radhakrishnan on Thursday said the government attaches great importance to fairness, transparency and accountability in public procurement. <br/><br/>He said it has raised citizens' expectations in terms of efficiency and outcomes of public spending. <br/><br/>He said, government has a clear vision of transforming procurement and public service delivery. <br/><br/>The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the third Global Procurement Summit in New Delhi. <br/><br/>He pointed out that government procurement contributed nearly 20 per cent of the GDP and said that public procurement was an important policy instrument.
