Govt assures to support cricket for the visually impaired

Sports Minister Vijay Goel has assured support from his Ministry and Sports Authority of India to promote cricket for the visually impaired ( Divayanga) in the country. Inaugurating the second World T-20 Cricket for Blind Championship in New Delhi on Sunday, Mr. Goel said, the centre will consider a suggestion to grant it recognition so that events related to visually impaired cricketers get financial assistance from the government. He said, the government has positive attitude towards this event and recently Shekhar Naik, a visually impaired cricketer has been chosen for Padam Shree. Teams of ten nations including India are participating in this championship.
