The government on Monday reiterated its commitment to provide foolproof security for all the sporting events to be held in the country. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Home secretary, Mr. G K Pillai said centre is taking maximum precautions to ensure the safety and security of sporting events. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that nearly 200 gun-totting commandos and 1000-odd personnel of central para military forces will be deployed in the national capital for a smooth conduct of the Hockey World Cup beginning on 28th of February. The hugely popular IPL cricket matches will be held between March 13 and April 25 and the Commonwealth Games will be held between October 3 and 14. During the Commonwealth Games over a lakh international spectators are expected to visit the country.<br/><br/>
