The government has asked States and Union Territories to come up with suitable human resources policy in health to attract and retain doctors in Government services. Stating this in Lok Sabha, Health Minister J.P.Nadda said, 50 percent of the postgraduate diploma courses will be reserved for government medical officers who have served at least three years in remote and difficult areas. <br/><br/>Incentive at the rate of 10 percent of the marks obtained for each year in service in remote or difficult areas will be given to the doctors with a maximum ceiling of 30 percent marks. The Minister further said the Government is providing financial and technical support to States and UTs for engagement of specialist doctors and para-medical staff on contract basis.<br/>
