Govt asks RBI to make required cash available to DCCBs for farmers: Jaitley

The government has asked the Reserve Bank of India and the Banks to make required cash available to the District Central Cooperative Banks, DCCBs to ensure flow of credit and required cash to farmers. <br/><br/>In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, NABARD has made available 21 thousand crore rupees to the Cooperative banks for Rabi agriculture operations. He said, it will benefit more than 40 percent of the small and marginal farmers. <br/><br/>He said, States have been asked to identify rural pockets where availability of cash has been a problem and provide all support to ensure last mile distribution of notes through mobile banking vans and Banking Correspondents. <br/><br/>Mr Jaitley also informed that 30 crore RuPay Debits Cards have been issued and to facilitate their use banks have waived off transaction charges till end of this month.
