<br/>Government today asked the power companies to minimise the transmission losses. Presenting the national award for meritorious performance in the power sector in New Delhi, the power minister Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the government is working on a smart grid system to improve the supply efficiency. He said 50,000 crore rupees has been sanctioned for restructuring the power sector. The minister asked the state governments to take advantage of central governments schemes to increase the power capacity in the country. Mr Shinde said to achieve economic growth it is necessary to attain growth in power sector.<br/>
