Govt asks mission in N.Zealand to take up missing student case

The Government has asked its mission in New Zealand to take steps to find out the whereabouts of an Indian student who went missing in Auckland earlier this month under suspicious circumstances. 23 year-old Srikanth Rayadurgam, who was to start a diploma in culinary arts at Auckland University of Technology, is reported missing since October one, after he failed to return to his sister's home in Mount Albert. Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi said, the government has asked the High Commission to take up the issue with local authorities. Rayadurgam came to New Zealand in February and was living with his elder sister and her family and working part-time as a chef in an Indian restaurant, before starting his course.
