Govt asks countrymen to remain resolute and united in combating terrorism

The government today unequivocally condemned the Delhi High Court terror attack and asked the countrymen to remain resolute and united in combating terrorism. Making a statement in the House, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that some intelligence was received in July on the possible attacks but despite the high alertness of Delhi Police, the high intensity blast was carried out. He informed that according to last reports, nine people have died and 47 have been injured. Most of the injured have been removed to Dr. RML hospital. Some have been removed to AIIMS and other nearby hospitals. Some of the injured have suffered serious injuries. A few others with minor injuries are being treated at the dispensary of the High Court. He assured the House that best medical treatment will be given to the injured. The Home Minister said CFSL, NIA/NSG and post-blast investigation team of Delhi Police have reached the spot. The investigation of the case is being entrusted to the NIA. Saying that it is too early to identify the group responsible for the blast, the Home Minister asserted the resolve of the government to track down the perpetrators of horrific crime and bring them to justice.
