Govt. approves Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram

The Centre has notified Technopark phase-3 in Thiruvananthapuram and Technopark at Kollam as Special Economic Zones (SEZs). The decision was taken by the Board of Approvals, Ministry of Commerce.<br/>Technopark Phase-I covering 31 acres and Phase-II having 86 acres were notified as SEZs earlier.<br/>Technopark Phase 3 will be developed over 92 acres of land, where construction of a signature building with 1 million sq ft built-up area had already begun. <br/>Technopark Kollam will be developed on a 40 acre SEZ as a modern and global standard IT Park in Kundara on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake.<br/>This project will have 2 million sq ft of built-up space and will provide employment to around 15,000 IT/ITES professionals. <br/>Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark said the first phase of this Technopark Kollam building is expected to be ready for occupation by early next year.<br/><br/> <br/>
