<span style="color: #222222;">The government has said that 73 airports have been operationalized under regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN till January this year. Minister of State for Civil Aviation General V. K. Singh said this in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. He said, UDAN scheme was launched in 2016 to stimulate regional air connectivity and making air travel affordable to the masses. The Minister said, government has approved the scheme for the revival and development of one hundred unserved and under-served Airports, helipads and Water Aerodromes by 2024.</span><br />
