<br/>Government today approved a proposal for digitalisation of transmitters of All India Radio and Doordarshan. It was approved in the meeting of cabinet committee on infrastructure in New Delhi today. Briefing reporters, information and broadcasting minister, Mrs Ambika Soni said that it will be completed at an estimated cost of 1540 crore rupees. She said this is an eleventh plan period scheme and involves replacement of medium wave transmitter by power digital transmitters.<br/>
