Centre has approved an assistance of over 842 crore rupees for Karnataka, Puducherry and Arunachal Pradesh as flood and drought relief. Of the total amount, Karnataka will get nearly 723.23 crore rupees, Puducherry 35.14 crore rupees and Arunachal Pradesh 84.33 crore rupees. The decision was taken at meeting of the High Level Committee chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today for central assistance to the states affected by drought and floods. <br/><br/>The Committee examined the reports of central teams which visited drought affected Karnataka and flood affected Puducherry and Arunachal Pradesh. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi were among those who attended the meeting.
