National Centres of Ageing will be established at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and Madras Medical College, Chennai. Union Health Ministry has approved setting up of these centres under 12th Five Year Plan Period. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in New Delhi in this regard today. <br/><br/>The functions of the National Centres will be health care delivery, training of health professionals and research activities along with 200 bedded in-patient services. The Ministry said, both the Centres are expected to be Centres of Excellence in the field of Geriatric Care in the country.
