Govt approves incorporation of Sagarmala Development Company under Companies Act

The Cabinet today approved incorporation of Sagarmala Development Company under Companies Act with an initial Authorized Share Capital of 1 thousand crore rupees.<br/><br/>The Cabinet also approved construction of a new dry dock within Cochin Shipyard Limited at a cost of 1 thousand 7 hundred 99 crore rupees.<br/><br/>The Cabinet gave its approval for establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Gorakhpur in UttarPradesh at a cost of 1 thousand 11 crore rupees.<br/><br/>The Cabinet approved procurement of Control Units, Ballot Units and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail Units during the next 3 years. It will phase out obsolete Electronic Voting Machines procured during 2000 to 2005, enabling the Election Commission to replenish stock.<br/><br/>The Cabinet approves introduction of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2016 in Parliament. After passage of the bill, it will benefit transgender persons, mitigate stigma, discrimination and abuse and bring them into mainstream of the society.<br/><br/>Cabinet also gave its nod for introducing amendments to Benami Transactions (Prohibition) (Amendment) Bill, 2015 in Parliament. The legislation is intended to effectively prohibit benami transactions.<br/><br/>Cabinet gave ex-post-facto approval for MoU signed between India and Swiss State Secretariat for Education,Research and Innovation in skill development. <br/><br/>The Cabinet also approves signing of Air Services Agreement between India and Mozambique. The Cabinet was also apprised of the MoU signed between India & Tunisia on 2nd of last month in Information Communication Technology and Digital Economy.
