Two hundred and sixty six Naxalites have surrendered last year in the country. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Jitendra Singh said that government has approved revised guidelines for surrender and rehabilitation of Naxalites in the affected States.

Under the guidelines an immediate grant of 1.5 lakh rupees is provided to the surrendered Naxalites besides a stipend of two thousand rupees for three years. He said apart from this the vocational training and incentives for surrender of weapons is also being given.
