Govt approves continuation of IVFRT scheme for five years with financial outlay of Rs 1,364 crore

<span style="color: #222222;">The government has approved continuation of the Immigration Visa Foreigners Registration Tracking, IVFRT scheme for a period of five years with a financial outlay of over one thousand 364 crore rupees. The scheme will be in effect from April 2021 to March 2026.  <br />''<br />''After the commencement of IVFRT, the number of Visa and Overseas Citizen of India's cards registered a growth at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate, CAGR of 7.7 percent. The number of issued cards increased from 44.43 lakh in 2014 to 64.59 lakh in 2019. Home Ministry said, average visa processing time of 15 to 30 days has been reduced to a maximum of 72 hours in the case of e-visas. 95 percent of e-visas were issued within 24 hours. The Ministry added that International traffic to and from India grew from 3.71 crore to 7.5 crore during the last ten years at a CAGR of 7.2 percent.</span><br />
