The government on Tuesday announced six per cent hike in dearness allowance for central government employees from January this year. The Union Cabinet which met this morning has taken a decision to this effect. The employees are at present getting 45 per cent of DA. AIR Correspondent, quoting official sources reports that the combined impact of the payment of DA to the exchequer is 5,715 crore rupees per annum in a financial year.
