The government has approved 21 proposals of Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, amounting to 2410 crore rupees. The approval has been given on the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board. According to an official release, the proposal which were cleared include 8 proposals worth over 1842 crore relating to FDI in brownfield pharmaceuticals sector. While 500 crore rupees FDI proposals of Sterlite Networks Limited, Dadar and Nagar Haveli has also been approved to engage in additional activities of telecom sector.
