Govt appoints Sunil Arora as IICA Director General

Former Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sunil Arora has been appointed as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, a think tank that comes under the Corporate Affairs Ministry. <br/><br/>An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Arora as DG and CEO of IICA. The order added that Mr Arora will serve for a period of five years or till attaining 65 years of age or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. <br/><br/>An IAS officer of 1980-batch Rajasthan cadre, Mr Arora retired as Information and Broadcasting Secretary earlier this year and is presently serving as an advisor at Prasar Bharati. <br/><br/>IICA focuses on matters impacting functioning of corporates and work towards capacity building with various stakeholders including regulators and professionals, among other activities.
