Government has appealed to major Central trade unions not to go on countrywide general strike from Tuesday in the interest of the country. Minister for Labour Employment Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said, most of the issues relating to labour raised by the trade unions have already been addressed to a substantial extent. The Minister assured that the government is always open for discussions on any of the issues relating to labour at anytime and will resolve the same amicably through consultations.

AIR Correspondent reports that trade unions across the country have decided to go on strike on Tuesday against rising prices, disinvestment of profit-making PSUs and violation of labour laws among other issues.
