The Government has again appealed to Bank employees not to join the two day Strike called by certain Trade Unions on the 20th of this month. An official statement said, the central Government is disappointed that a section of the bank employees have decided to join the strike. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had earlier made an appeal to the Trade Unions not to go on strike. The Government has also set-up a Group of Ministers to talk to the Trade Union leaders.
An official release said, there is no reason for bank employees to join the strike as none of the main points contained in the charter of demands are connected to them. Banks provide employment to a large number of people and Bank employees enjoy social security cover, attractive payments and enjoy better service conditions with pensionary benefits. In view of the above, the Government has once again appealed to the bank employees not to join the strike on the 20th and 21st of this month.
