The government announced a road map for resumption of comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan, In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry said Secretary level talks will be held on Counter-terrorism including progress on Mumbai trial, Humanitarian issues; Peace & Security, including CBMs and Jammu & Kashmir. The other issues including promotion of friendly exchanges, Siachen and Economic issues. The discussions on Wullar Barrage or Tulbul Navigation Project and Sir Creek will be held at the level of Additional Secretaries and Surveyors General. These talks will be held before the visit of the Pakistan Foreign Minister to India expected by July. The meetings are in pursuance of the mandate given by the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan, following their meeting in Thimphu in April last year. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, the Foreign Secretary, Mrs. Nirupama Rao said that both the countries have to work to mitigate the trust deficit between them and re-engage themselves to take the dialogue forward. On the proposed visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi to New Delhi in July, Mrs. Rao said that both the countries have to focus on larger issues. The Foreign Secretary said that India will continue to discuss 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks with Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the terror to book. She said that New Delhi has urged Islamabad to focus on this issue.
