The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla today said that the government has announced a CBI inquiry into the case of alleged offering of bribe to the Chief of Army Staff.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Shukla said that the Defence Minister A.K Antony is ready to make a statement in Parliament on this issue if the opposition members are not satisfied with this action.

On the other hand, reacting on this issue, the BJP leader Harin Pathak said that Defence Minister should make a statement in the House as Parliament is in session. He also demaned an explanation from Mr Antony about his actions when he was informed about this issue.
