Govt announces additional Rs 2 lakh for treatment of Sonu Sinha

The Sports Ministry has announced an additional two lakh rupees for medical treatment of the national level football and volleyball player Sonu Sinha. The Railways has assured her a job. Sinha was pushed out of a moving train near Bareily in UP on Monday night by some men who tried to rob her. The Sports Ministry had earlier announced an ex gratia payment of 25 thousand rupees.Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Ajay Maken said that he has also written to the Home Minister to provide employment with CISF. Meanwhile Railway Board Chairman Vivek Sahai said that they will bear all medical expenses and extend all help for Sinha's rehabilitation. The Railways has also constituted a four-member team to probe into the incident. It will submit its report within a week's time.
