Govt announces 4 new IT-based initiatives on Good Governance Day to mark birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Health Minister J P Nadda today announced four new IT-based initiatives on Good Governance Day to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Mr Nadda announced this during the launch of the AIIMS OPD Transformation Project in New Delhi. He said, the first initiative is Kilkari which will be an audio-based mobile service that delivers weekly audio messages to families about pregnancy, child birth and child care. The Health Minister also stated that a new mobile-based application, Mobile Academy, has been developed through which about 90 lakh ASHAs will be trained. <br/><br/>Mr Nadda also informed about making the Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) more patient-centric. He said, a dedicated toll free number, 1 8 0 0 – 1 1 – 6 6 6 6, with a call centre is being started to provide round the clock support for patient counselling and treatment support services. The initiative is being started in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Mr Nadda also announced an M-Cessation initiative which will be an IT-enabled tool to help tobacco users to quit tobacco.
