Government has amended the UGC regulations to promote foreign collaborations to improve educational quality in the country. <br/><br/>It will allow Higher Educational Institutions with grade A to collaborate with foreign institutions for non-technical degree programmes.<br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi today, Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani said enabling foreign collaborations will provide enhanced international exposure for Indian students.<br/><br/>She said the collaborations will be effective for the UGC recognised universities and institutions. The Minister said it will offer unprecedented academic mobility and enable students to explore larger avenues.<br/><br/>She said the degree will be accorded by Indian Higher Educational Institution with specific mention of being awarded in collaboration with the foreign institute. <br/><br/>The students will receive transcripts which will be jointly signed by both Indian and Foreign educational institutions.
