Govt allocates Rs 3100 cr for minorities

Government has allocated 3100 crore rupees in the General Budget for the betterment of minority community in the country. This is an increase of 385 crore rupees over the Revised Budget Estimates for the current Financial Year.

The allocation for Pre-Matric Scholarship has been increased upto 810 crore rupees, while Post-Matric Scholarship scheme got 450 crore rupees. Provision for Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority students has also been enhanced.

The Budget has provided over four crore rupees for a new scheme to provide free cycles to minority girl students of class ninth. For promotion of education in minority community, 45 crore rupees has also been provided to two other different scheme.
