The government today allocated 18.57 lakh tonne of sugar for the month of June. This includes 2.07 lakh tonne levy sugar and 16.50 lakh tonne non-levy sugar. An official statement said that this quantity is sufficient to meet the internal demand of sugar. It added that the mills need to sell the entire quantity by end of next month.
