Government allayed fears of deregulating diesel and LPG prices. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi on Monday, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas RPN Singh said that no discussion is taking place to decontrol prices of these petroleum products in the near future.

Replying to questions on speculated hike in petrol prices due to rising crude oil cost, Mr Singh said that petrol prices are decided by oil companies and the government has no control over it.
