Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh today said the country will have record production of food grains during 2016-17.<br/><br/>He said in New Delhi that a good monsoon is expected in coming months and target of over 270 million tonnes food grains production has been set for the year. <br/><br/>Mr Singh said the target includes production of 108.50 million tonnes of rice, 96.50 million tonnes wheat, 20.75 million tonnes of pulses and 35 million tonnes of oilseed. <br/><br/>A target of 355 million tonnes production of sugarcane has also been set. He said, despite two consecutive droughts, the production of food grains went up in comparison to last year.
