Opposition parties in Rajya Sabha today made a strong pitch for referring the Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015 to a Select Committee while opposing the proposed changes in it. <br/><br/>Members of the Congress, CPI(M) and Samajwadi Party wanted the government not to take up the Bill for consideration and passing.Congress member Jairam Ramesh alleged that a very major dilution is being made in the legislation and insisted not to rush with a discussion.<br/><br/>Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, however, dismissed the charge saying it is not appropriate to say that the government is trying to curtail the scope of the<br/>bill. <br/><br/>He said, the amendments only aims at putting the safeguard, which were not there earlier.
