Govt against discussion of important issues in Parliament: Rahul ; Govt ready to discuss communal violence issue in LS.

Congress today turned combative with its Vice President Rahul Gandhi charging the government with not allowing discussion on important issues in Parliament. Mr Gandhi, who for the first time trooped into the well of the Lok Sabha along with his party MPs, told reporters that the government is averse to discussion whereas the entire opposition wants to debate issues. Without naming anyone, he said only one voice is being heard in the country and his party is not allowed to speak.

BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy described Rahul Gandhi's words as unfortunate and avoidable. Rudy said the language used by Rahul shows his frustration.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venakiah Naidu today said in the Lok Sabha that the government is ready for a discussion under relevant rules on the incidents of communal violence as demanded by opposition parties.

The Minister’s response came in the wake of continued slogan shouting by opposition parties including Congress. Earlier Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, while raising the issue, held the NDA government responsible for the increasing number of incidents of communal violence in some parts of the country.

BJP members, however, strongly opposed the allegations by Mr Kharge.
Earlier, during question hour, the House was adjourned for a brief period as opposition members continued to demand a discussion. Members belonging to the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, RJD and others, trooped into the well of the house in support of their demand for a discussion in this regard.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that she would give her ruling on the adjournment motion moved by the Opposition in this regard.Amidst noisy scenes, the House has taken up the matters of public importance.
