Govt. advocates stringent punishment to food adultrators: Sahay

Government today strongly advocated stringent punishment for those responsible for food adulteration. Replying to questions on the side lines of a function in New Delhi, the Union Minister of Food Processing Industry Mr. Subodh Kant Sahay also called for addressing the issues faced by the food sector in a holistic manner. Earlier, Mr. Sahay inaugurated the country's first food testing laboratory. He said, in view of the stringent quality control in the international market this lab will ensure quality and safety of all meat products. The Minister said that the country needs many such facilities for the supply of hygienic and safe meat & poultry products for domestic and export purposes.
