Govt. adopting a multi-pronged strategy to address Muslim educational backwardness

The government today said it is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to address the educational backwardness of the Muslim community. Replying to supplementaries during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, the minority affairs minister, Salman Khursheed said the Madarsa modernisation programme has been revised to make it more attractive by providing better salary to teachers, increased assistance for books, teaching aids, computers and introduction of vocational subjects. The minister said a sum of 325 crore rupees have been allocated for the purpose in the eleventh five year plan. <br/>
