The government today asserted that it is absolutely stable even after the pullout of the DMK.
Addressing a media conference in New Delhi today, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said, no political party has come out to challenge the government’s majority in Parliament.
Mr Nath said, a decision on a resolution on Sri Lanka will be taken after the consultation process with political parties is over.
He said, there is a broad consensus among political parties on the issue and the government will continue with the policies that it has taken up in the past.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram said, the government intends to move amendments to the draft resolution on Sri Lanka in the UNHRC. He, however, made it clear that India is not working with the US to dilute the resolution. Mr. Chidambarm also affirmed that the government enjoys a majority and will continue to do its duty.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said, the government will take decisions in the national interest regarding the policy in international matters.
