Governor’s rule extended in North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council

In Assam, the governor’s rule in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council has been extended by a period of six months with effect from Monday. According to official sources, the Hill Areas Development Department of state government has issued the formal notification in this regard on Tuesday. <br/>The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council has been put under animated suspension on 12th June last year for its alleged links with underground rebels and siphoning of council’s fund to extremist outfits.<br/>
