<span style="color: #222222;">Assam joined the rest of the country to celebrate the Republic day with enthusiasm. Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi unfurled the Tri-colour at Khanapara in Guwahati. In his speech, the Governor said that the Justice (retired) Biplab Kumar Sarma committee on Clause 6 of the Assam Accord would soon submit its recommendations to preserve the culture, language and identity of the indigenous people of Assam. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Prof Mukhi said that the Assam government would give land pattas to 1 lakh people soon. He also said that that complete sealing of the Assam- Bangladesh border would be completed soon to prevent infiltration.<br />'' <br />'' Republic day is being celebrated across the state with much fanfare. Meanwhile, suspected militants triggered blasts at Upper Assam today. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, no injury or casualty has been reported. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condemned the explosions and asked Director General of Police to deal with the situation and nab the forces believed to have perpetrated the explosions.</span>
