<span style="color: #222222;">Governor of Assam and Nagaland Prof. Jagdish Mukhi has called on the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State branch to play its part in eliminating TB by 2025 as envisaged by the government.<br />''<br />''Addressing the 35th Annual General Body Meeting Ceremonial function at Dr. Imkongliba hall in Raj Bhavan  Kohima today, Prof Mukhi said, the Red Cross besides their humanitarian services, can participate in the nutritional support component and contribute to the elimination of TB in the country.<br />''<br />''He said, worldwide, the Red Cross is considered to be an organization with a strong global presence as many organizations connects with the people requiring assistance at the grass-root level. To this, the Governor emphasized the need to streamline the system with new Technology to sustain the image of the sacrifices and credibility of the organization.<br />''<br />''He said the emergence of social media must be utilized to its advantage for providing transparent, prompt and effective services. The setting up of Video Conference facilities at the Red Cross office, Kohima, is encouraging, he added.  <br />''<br />''The Governor said, information technology, digitalization procedures should be incorporated into the society to modernise and enhance its functioning. Prof. Mukhi further urged for the need of scaling up the membership drives adding that it will strengthen the organization physically and economically.<br />''<br />''He said, the branches should strive to register youth leaders, teachers, church leaders, doctors and nurses who can take a pro-active role in carrying out the mission of Red Cross. On the occasion, 13 Patrons and five Vice Patrons were decorated with Red cross badges.         </span><br />
