The government's share in total Health Expenditure has increased from 28.6 per cent in 2013-14 to 40.6 per cent in 2018-19. <br />''<br />''As per National Health Accounts (NHA) estimates for India 2018-19 which was released yesterday by the  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the per capita government spending on healthcare has increased by 74 per cent since 2013-14. <br />''<br />''The NHA estimates show that the per capita government spending in 2013-14 was one thousand forty two rupees, which has increased to one thousand eight hundred and fifteen rupees in 2018 -19. It said the government's share in the overall spending on health in the country is increasing steadily. The government's share in current health expenditure has increased from 23.2 per cent in 2013-14 to 34.5 per cent in 2018-19.<br />''<br />''Government spending on primary healthcare has increased since 2013-14. The government health expenditure during that period on primary healthcare was around 51 per cent, which has increased to over 55 per cent in 2018-19.<br />''<br />''The per capita Out-of-pocket expenditure in the country has also decreased by eight per cent since 2013-14 while out-of-Pocket Expenditure as a percentage of total health expenditure has declined substantially by 16 per cent from 64.2 per cent  to 48.2 per cent. The NHA also reveals that the government-financed health insurance expenditure has increased by 167 per cent from 2013-14.<br />''<br />''Talking exclusively to AIR News, Dr. V K Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog who released the report said, the NHA report shows that the government expenditure on health services is increasing continuously. Dr. Paul said, due to the increased expenditure, the coverage of health services, as well as its utilization, is also increasing.<br />''<br />''The Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the increased focus on primary health care reinforces the government's decision to prioritize primary healthcare in the country.<br />''<br />''The National Health Account (NHA) estimates for India 2018-19 is the sixth consecutive NHA Estimates report since 2013-14. It was prepared by  National Health Systems Resource Centre designated as National Health Accounts Technical Secretariat in 2014 by the Union Health Ministry. <br />
