Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena has said his government is committed to strengthen the reconciliation in a way that the country is not divided. Speaking at a inauguration ceremony of a hospital in Batticaloa last evening, the President said his intention is to build a country in which all communities can live in peace and harmony and the government will do its part to see that a war would not recur. He said the initial activities in this regard will be completed within next few months despite allegations by some groups. <br/><br/>The President said though some groups criticize the government on various issues, they will fulfill the responsibility of building the country taking those criticisms as strength. His comments came as former President Mahinda Rajapakse accused the government of dropping its guard on LTTE by scaling down intelligence operations in the island's Tamil-majority north and east. Commenting on the recent arrest of four ex-LTTE members for allegedly plotting to assassinate M.A.Sumanthiran, the former President said it is the results of irrational actions which removed military camps and reduced the level of intelligence operations in those provinces.
