The government has set a target of broadband coverage of all the 2,50,000 village Panchayats in the country by 2012. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Minister of State for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot said around 97 thousand village Panchayat locations have been made broadband-enabled by BSNL as of August 2010.
