Government is serious about bringing back former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and liquor baron Vijay Mallya to India who are facing various allegations, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. <br/><br/>She said the two cases in question remain an issue under discussion between the governments of India and the UK during the recent visit of the British Prime Minister to India. <br/><br/>She said the law enforcement authorities are contemplating other steps under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with the UK in order to bring them back.<br/><br/>Yesterday, a special PMLA court in Mumbai had allowed the ED to send a Letter of Request to the British government for execution of a non-bailable warrant against Lalit Modi and his transfer to India for facing probe in a money laundering case. <br/><br/>Mallya, who has been declared a proclaimed offender, allegedly owes thousands of crores of rupees in loans to various banks in India.
