Government says it has allocated funds to banking sector, PSUs with view to improving their condition

The government today said it has allocated funds to the banking sector and other Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) with a view to improving their condition. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Finance minister Arun Jaitley said 90,000 crore rupees was allocated in the Union Budget and infused in various Public sector banks by the government during financial year 2017-18. <br />''<br />''<br />''In the budget estimates of financial year (2018-19), 65,000 crore rupees has been allocated for recapitalisation of PSBs and an amount of  51,533 crore rupees has been infused in PSBs till December 31st last year.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr Jaitley informed the House that India Infrastructure Financial Company  Limited (IIFCL) is the only Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the department of financial services. He said an amount of 100 crore rupees each in financial year 2017-18 and 2018-19 was allocated in the Union Budget and infused in IIFCL by the government.</span><br />
